When I first created this page, I tried to explain why I don't do custom orders. I did my best to be logical and reasonable, and respectable. But I think it's time to just break down and be honest with those who take their valuable time to read my pages.
See, the thing is espirit' glen is a REAL place. It exists within this world but yet on another dimension. And my link to espirit' glen is Schammy whom you may or may not have heard me talk about. Schammy is one of the elder dragonflies whom I met when I was just a child. He tells me about the creatures that live in espirit' glen, and even lets me come and visit them from time to time. We have this little agreement....he helps me to sculpt my little creations. He sits invisibly at my ear, and coaches me....saying, "no....not like that, the nose should be a little bigger" and "yes, now you're getting it". And if when the critter is finished, if he doesn't approve of it, I'm not allowed to send it off into the world. I have one little Zebra here that I wasn't allowed to sell, because he just knew too much, and Schammy didn't trust him to keep the secrets of the glen.
But yet, there's another part to this agreement. I am allowed to use my imagination sometimes too, as long as Schammy approves. The way he's explained it to me, is that what I sculpt, if it doesn't already exist in espirit' glen, it begins to exist and becomes real. So I have to be careful what I sculpt. A while back I make a little Yorkie puppy, and now the denizens of Kiki Valley are all scrambling around trying to figure out what to feed this strange creature...LOL Maybe I should sculpt a bag of Purina :o)
So I'm being honest and telling your the story of my sculptures, so that you can understand why I don't do commissions or take suggestions. Because Schammy, although he's a real hoot (has a great sense of humor), is really quite a stickler when it comes to what is and is not allowed to be in espirit' glen and Kiki Valley. I'm not allow to sculpt any of the more forceful creatures, until I've already sculpted the protectors. It's all kind of confusing. :o) And you thought I had it easy sitting around all day sculpting, being my own boss. Nope....I've got a boss that hovers around my head all day. LOL, but he's really a sweetie, and I'm so grateful for all of his help and guidence. I'm hoping that one day he will allow me to sculpt him.
